Full Node · Setup guide
UniFi already has a Guest Hotspot feature with an External Portal option. We point it at EZLINK's portal — your Node ID is baked into the URL, so EZLINK knows which node every captive hit belongs to. No scripts, no SSH.
Is this router in a hotel, office, coworking space or campus?
Corporate venues should use the hosted RADIUS bridge instead of configuring a standalone hotspot. Same hardware, no laptop agent, works with your fiber/business ISP.

Sign in at unifi.ui.com (or your self-hosted address). Open the site you want to host on, then switch to the Network application.
Go to Settings → WiFi → Create New (or open an existing guest SSID). Give it a name like 'EZLINK Guest'. Under Advanced → Security, leave it as Open (no password). Save.
Still on the WiFi settings for your guest SSID, scroll to Hotspot Portal and toggle Enable Hotspot Portal on. UniFi will create a default Guest Hotspot profile and link this SSID to it. Save.
Go to Settings → Insights & Hotspot → Guest Hotspot (older UIs: Settings → Profiles → Guest Hotspot). Open the profile linked to your SSID. Under Authentication, choose External Portal Server. In the External Portal URL field, paste the full URL from the box below — it looks like https://portal.ezlinkapp.net/u/NODE_ID_HERE — your Node ID is already baked in. Save.
Tip: Don't edit the URL. The NODE_ID segment is how EZLINK matches captive hits to your account, your payouts, and your Node Token (which stays on our servers, never on the router).
In the same Guest Hotspot settings, find Pre-Authorization Access (some versions call it 'Allowed Subnets / Hostnames'). Add: portal.ezlinkapp.net and api.ezlinkapp.net. Save. This lets guest devices reach the portal before they're authorized.
Connect a phone to the new guest SSID. The EZLINK portal should pop up automatically (Captive Portal Detection). As soon as it loads, EZLINK records the first hit from your Node ID and your UniFi site flips to 'online' in Owner → My Nodes within ~60 seconds.
Portal doesn't appear, just a blank page or 'no internet'
Make sure portal.ezlinkapp.net and api.ezlinkapp.net are in the pre-authorization allowlist. If they aren't, the guest device can't reach the portal and Captive Portal Detection times out.
Portal opens but EZLINK shows the node as offline
The URL is wrong or your Node ID was edited. Re-copy the External Portal URL from the box below (it must include /u/YOUR_NODE_ID) and paste it again, then re-test.
Guest devices never get redirected
Confirm the Hotspot Portal toggle is on for that specific SSID (Settings → WiFi → your SSID → Hotspot Portal). Adopting a new AP after enabling the portal also requires the AP to provision — wait 2 minutes.
